Rath wyverns are one of the most prolific species on the planet, not only due to the fact they are incredibly adaptable and powerful, but also because they are one of the world's greatest examples of wyvernian parenting. Rathians are devoted and protective mothers and Rathalos have been known to starve themselves just to feed and provide for their families. Unlike their parents, who are one of the best species of wyvern known for their dramatic sexual dimorphism, infant Rath wyverns are completely androgynous, and continue to be so into their late adolescence. They are typically light to medium grey, even after learning how to fly, which indicates the coloration aides in camouflage for juveniles in-flight.
